Mario – voiced by Chris Pratt
The super plumber himself, Mario! Dressed in his red plumbing outfit (complete with the white gloves), he’s the protagonist of the new movie (and of all the videogames that came before it). Chris Pratt brings Mario to life, with his classic and recognizable voice. Before Mario, Pratt was already dominating the blockbuster movie scene, having starred in the entire Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy trilogies. Luigi – voiced by Charlie Day
Mario’s iconic brother Luigi appears in the movie as well (duh, it’s Mario Brothers), and he is voiced by the incredibly funny Charlie Day! Day has been a main star in the sitcom series Always Sunny in Philadelphia since 2005, and has had starring roles in previous comedies such as Horrible Bosses and Fist Fight. Still yearning for more Charlie Day? His own movie that he wrote and directed, Fool’s Paradise, is now available on VOD.
Bowser – voiced by Jack Black
The man, the myth, the legend, Jack Black! If you’ve heard the song Peaches all over TikTok, that’s Jack Black as Bowser, the terrifying villain who’s trying to take over the Mushroom Kingdom! Hoping you can catch more of Jack Black? You can catch him in the last season of The Mandalorian, streaming now on Disney+.
Princess Peach – voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy
We love you Princess Peach! The fantastic pink princess is voiced in the movie by the fantastic Anya Taylor-Joy. Looking forward to seeing more Taylor-Joy? Check her out in The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix!
Donkey Kong – voiced by Seth Rogen
That hearty laugh of his is immediately recognizable! Seth Rogen plays our lovely himbo Donkey Kong in the Super Mario Bros. movie, and boy, does he do a fantastic job! Watch Seth Rogen in his other comedies such as Superbad, This is the End, and Neighbors. Later this year you can find Rogen in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
Cranky Kong – voiced by Fred Armisen
The Kong’s are nothing without their cranky old king. Fred Armisen brings the cooky king of the Jungle Kingdom to life! Fred Armisen has appeared in many comedic projects over the years, including Saturday Night Live and (his own show he co-wrote and created) Portlandia. You can also find Armisen in numerous movies, such as Easy A and Anchorman.
Toad – voiced by Keegan-Michael Key
The adorable mushroom guy we love so much is a main character in this new movie! We’re just happy we got to see so much of him. Armed with his awesome frying pan and completely ready for whatever comes his way, Toad is a force to be reckoned with! Keegan-Michael Key brings the cute little guy to life, and he does it fantastically! Hoping to dive into the rest of what Key has done? Spike – voiced by Sebastian Maniscalco
Foreman Spike operates the Wrecking Crew Demolition company that Mario and Luigi used to work at. Spike bullies Mario and Luigi when he runs into them, and continues to give them a hard time throughout the film. Both Mario and Luigi just want to teach this guy a lesson! Spike is voices by the popular comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. Maniscalco currently has 6 comedy specials, and has appeared in multiple films, such as Green Book.
Kamek voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson – Kamek
Bowser’s tiny no-good sidekick Kamek isn’t left out! Kevin Michael Richardson brings a certain snively-ness to the character that we couldn’t live without! Kevin Michael Richardson can be found as a voice in Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and Gravity Fall’s.
Mario’s Dad/Giuseppe voiced by Charles Martinet – Mario’s Dad/Giuseppe
One of the coolest facts from this movie is that Charles Martinet, the actor who voices Mario and Luigi’s father in this movie, has been the voice actor of Mario and Luigi in the videogames since 1991! He is also the voice of other characters in the series such as Wario and Waluigi.
Mario’s Mom – voiced by Jessica DiCicco
The whole family makes an appearance in this movie, as family is shown to mean a lot to our poor Mario. Mario’s mom is voiced here by Jessice DeCicco. DeCicco is a well-known voice actor who mostly does work for children animated series and videogames. You can find her on the Nickelodeon show The Loud House.
Uncle Tony – voiced by Rino Romano – Uncle Tony
Uncle Tony is voiced Rino Romano. Rino Romano is most known by his work in the animated series The Batman from 2004-2008, and the animated series Spider-Man Unlimited from 1999-2001.
Uncle Arthur – voiced by John DiMaggio
John DiMaggio has a very popular voice, and we were glad to hear it within this family! DiMaggio previously voiced Bender in Futurama and Jake the Dog in Adventure Time. Now, you can find DiMaggio in the very popular Netflix series, Disenchanted.
Penguin King – voiced by Khary Payton
Khary Payton is an actor best known for his role in the horror series The Walking Dead and the soapy drama General Hospital. Hoping you could find more voice work from the wonderful Payton? You can also find him in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go, as the loveable Cyclops.
Lumalee voiced by Juliet Jelenic
Wildly enough, this nihilistic little star is voiced by the director’s daughter, Juliet! Currently Juliet doesn’t have any other roles under her belt, but we know that she’s going to be a voice-acting star one day!
Koopa General voiced by Scott Menville – Koopa General
The Koopa General is voiced by Scott Menville, best known for his role as Robin/Dick Grayson in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go. Menville also voiced the actor version of Sokka in the Avatar the Last Airbender episode, The Ember Island Players.
Koopa Troopa Soldiers – voiced by Eric Bauza
And finally, all of the Koopa Troopa soldiers were voiced by the talented Eric Bauza, who previously voiced Stimpy from Ren and Stimpy and Fozzie Bear from Muppet Babies.
