James Bond Takes on SPECTRE and Christoph Waltz in Newest Trailer

The newest James Bond film, Spectre, has been largely shrouded in mystery. Today, however, we got our second trailer which sheds more light on the latest installment, although admittedly not much. You can watch it below!

In the first trailer, we saw that this film will deal with the fallout from Skyfall. While this trailer gives less of that, it still makes clear that it’s following a certain continuity, from Ralph Fiennes assuming the mantle of M to James Bond’s (Daniel Craig) relationships with Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw).

This is the first incarnation of Bond that actively cares about continuity and character growth, which has been refreshing and satisfying as a viewer.

It’s not only familiar faces we see in the new trailer, though.

We get better looks at newcomers Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, who seems to be the newest Bond girl in the romance department, and Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann who’s the daughter of Bond’s old nemesis Mr. White (Jesper Christensen).

Bond races to uncover the secrets of SPECTRE, to which Mr. White may hold the answers, and defeat his latest enemy Franz Oberhauser, played by the spectacular Christoph Waltz.

As if all that wasn’t enough, back in London Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott) is questioning the relevance of MI6 and challenging M.

The trailer is full of action, just as you’d expected from a Bond film, and more toys like the new Aston Martin which can go 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds. Fun fact: this is the first time Aston Martin created a car specifically for a Bond film, and they only made ten.

Craig has only one weak film in the franchise (Quantum of Solace) and given the criticism he received when he was first announced as Bond, he’s proven himself to be one of the best 007 agents. Whoever replaces him (whether it be the rumored Damian Lewis or fan-favorite Idris Elba), they’ll have big shoes to fill.

This new film is shaping up to be another hit between Craig and director Sam Mendes, who says this will be his last Bond film, and I can’t wait.

Spectre, hits theaters on November 6, 2015. It’s directed by Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw, Naomie Harris, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista, Léa Seydoux, Stephanie Sigman, Andrew Scott, and Rory Kinnear.
