All of the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Characters

Since you’re reading this blog, you probably already know that Jujutsu Kaisen (it means “sorcery fight”) is a super-popular anime series based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami. Set in a world where all beings emanate Cursed Energy and Jujutsu Sorcerers are dedicated to bringing down the evil spiritual beings that result, heroes arise! The first story arc in Season 2 is a prequel to Season 1 and the 2021 film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. It focuses on Satoru Gojo as a young sorcerer, his friend Suguru Geto, and others as they fight the Curses. The second arc takes place years later when adult Gojo and his students take on a massive Curses attack. Cool, huh? Check out our ranking of Jujutsu Kaisen villains for our thoughts on the biggest, baddest foes that came back for Season 2.

Gojo Satoru

This is your hero, folks. Strong but likeable Satoru Gojo is the main protagonist in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He’s a special Jujutsu Sorcerer widely recognized as the strongest in the world. So, don’t mess with him if you know what’s good for you! In Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo assumes the role of mentor to student Yuji Itadori, helping him become stronger while protecting other characters in the series. Arc 1 of Season 2 focuses on Gojo’s days as a young sorcerer at the Jujutsu Academy. The second arc takes place years later as adult Gojo and his students confront a massive number of Curses attacking Shibuya. Cool, huh?

Geto Suguru

On the other hand, Suguru Geto, Geto Suguru, if you please, is a previous friend and ally to his mentor Satoru Gojo in the first arc of Season 2, but who then becomes his enemy when Geto takes over the Star Religious Group as its new leader and pursues his goal of killing all the non-Sorcerers. You might have loved him before, but maybe not so much by the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. See what you think.

Riko Amanai

We don’t recall Riko Amanai from Season 1, but Riko as the “Star Plasma Vessel” for Master Tengen is the subject of Goji and Geto’s protection from the religious group “Time Vessel Association” and Curse sect “Q” in Season 2. Why? Will they be successful? Will Riko survive the events of Season 2? Watch and find out!

Toji Fushiguro

Toji Zen’in, now known as Toji Fushiguro, who uniquely has no curse energy at all but does possess incredible physical prowess, is a prime villain in the piece. He’s a former member of the Zen’in Clan and is known as the “Sorcerer Killer.” Toji and Gojo duke it out, but Toji is still able to kill Riko. Geto joins the fight, and the exciting tale continues. Where does it all end? Who knows? But we’re ready for the next chapter!

Yuji Itadori

Athletic high school student Yuji Itadori is a primary character in the manga series and in Season 1 of the anime when he joins the secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers to kill the powerful Ryomen Sukuna Curse. He carries through on many adventures until the end of the season when he, Panda, and others are recommended to be classed as Grade 1 Sorcerers. Yuji also appears in Season 2, but not until Episode 5, the 29th episode overall, when Gojo awakens from his dream. Yuji is a very popular character, and we expect to see much more of him.

Megumi Fushiguro

Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College student Megumi Fushiguro is another beloved character who appears early in and throughout Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1. Many episodes find Yuji, Megumi, Gojo, and/or Nobara aligned in battle against the forces of evil. In Season 2, as baddie Sorcerer Killer Toji lies dying, he tells Gojo that Megumi is his son and destined to be sold to the Zen’in clan. Later, Gojo decides to protect Megumi from this fate.

Nobara Kugisaki

Like Yuji Itadori above, we don’t see much of Nobara Kugisaki in the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 until Episode 5, the 29th episode overall in the anime series. But Tokyo Jujutsu High first-year student Nobara plays a big part in Season 1, from the third episode right through to the end of the season. Her dedicated fans know her well, and in spite of Nobara being a bit hotheaded and brash, they can’t wait to see more of her as Season 2 unfolds. She’s one confident, sassy “tough chick,” and you’re gonna love her!

Ryomen Sukuna

Beginning with Season 1, Episode 1, Jujutsu Kamen fans have become very familiar with Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful supernatural monster known as a “Curse” and the biggest baddie in the manga and anime. Indeed, Yuji Itadori becomes Sukuna’s host, and his death is Yuji’s objective when he joins the secret Jujutsu Sorcerers organization. But this guy is one tough hombre to kill, as is demonstrated throughout the first season, and his sadistic and terrifying nature are hard to forget. Will Sukuna appear in Season 2? Well, has Yuji consumed all 20 fingers?

Misato Kuroi

Misato Kuroi does not appear in Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen, to our knowledge. In Season 2, she’s Riko’s maid and the caretaker of Riko Amanai. Surprisingly, although she’s obviously a Sorcerer with considerable fighting skills, Misato is primarily a noncombatant in the first arc, Gojo’s “past arc.”

Shoko Ieiri

Need a good doctor? Call her! Another relatively minor character in the drama is Shoko Ieiri, the doctor who treats Yuji in Season 1. In Season 2, Shoko returns to heal Suguru Geto after Geto attempts to absorb Toji’s cursed spirit and fails. A Sorcerer in her own right, she’s quite a valuable resource to the good guys in that she can heal others by using the Reverse Healing Cursed Technique. Rather serious and somber, Shoko spends most of her time in the morgue examining dead bodies and does not get into the combat action. It would be interesting to see the result if she did.

Utahime Iori

In the first arc (Gojo’s past) of Season 2, Sorcerer Mei Mei and polite and reserved third year student Utahime Iori investigate a haunted house, only to be trapped by a cursed spirit. Thankfully, they’re rescued by Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and (future doctor) Shoko Ieiri. Later in the overall timeline (Season 1), you’ll discover her to be a Grade 1 Sorcerer and teacher at Kyoto Prefectural Jujutsu High School. You probably don’t want to mess with Utahime Iori!

Mei Mei

A bit of a mercenary, typically interested only in the money for herself, Mei Mei is no less a respected alumnus of the Jujutsu School, a Grade 1 Sorcerer, and a capable fighter… her weapon of choice being the battle ax. Mei Mei first appears at the end of Season 1. In Season 2, as mentioned above, she gets trapped in a haunted house with Utahime Iori and requires rescue. What’s next for Mei Mei? Stay tuned and watch the rest of Season 2 with us!

Masamichi Yaga

In the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise, famous for his creation of Panda, Masamichi Yaga is the principal of Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School. He’s an ally of Yuji who also taught Satoru, Suguru, and Shoko. We don’t recall him from Season 1 of the anime, but in the first five episodes of season 2 he appears as the homeroom teacher of Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and Shoko Ieiri. What’s next for Masamichi Yaga?

Shiu Kong

Who is Shiu Kong? Well, he’s not a Sorcerer. He can, however, see cursed spirits. Wong is a minor character in the first arc of Season 2, a Korean human who hires evil Toji Fushiguro to kill the Star Plasma Vessel (Riko Amanai). We wonder what, if anything, he will do next…

Master Tengen

Master Tengen is a very interesting character indeed. He’s an immortal Jujutsu Sorcerer that remains within the Tombs of the Star Corridor to protect the Jujutsu High locations, and he preached the foundation of the Jujutsu Sorcerers. In Season 2, in order to preserve his immortality, he merges with a person known as a “Star Plasma Vessel,” a girl named Riko Amanai, as mentioned above.

Kokun

In Season 2 of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, Kokun and Bayer (see below) are two soldiers from the Curse Users sect called “Q.” Sent to assassinate Riko Amanai, thus preventing her from merging with Tengen, they’re defeated by Gojo and Geto.

Bayer

See “Kokun” above.

Yuki Tsukumo

There are only four Special Grade Sorcerers, and Yuki Tsukumo, a former Star Plasma Vessel, is one of them. In Season 2, she tells Geto of her desire to rid the world of the cursed spirits created by the curse energy given off by non-Sorcerers. Unfortunately, Geto comes to the conclusion that if they killed off all the non-Sorcerers and forced them to adapt, this might be possible… and he takes over leadership of the Star Religious Group. Could there be trouble brewing on the horizon?

FAQs:

Who are the new characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime is famous for its wealth of cool characters, each unique and memorable. And so it is with Season 2. There are some returning characters from Season 1 and some that are new in Season 2. In the latter category, we find Toji Fushigiro, Geto Suguru, Riko Amanai, Misato Kuro, Master Tengen, Uraume, and Yuki Tsukumo.

Who is the main character in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

We would have to say that Gojo is the primary character in Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen. After all, the first arc focuses on his youth and past, and the second deals with adult Gojo and his students in the continuing battle against the Curses.

Who is the main villain in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

That’s easy. Toji Fushiguro emerges as the major antagonist in Gojo’s “past” arc in Season 2. Not only does he kill Riko, but he also gives Gojo and Geto a run for their money. The former member of the Zen’in Clan is known as the “Sorcerer Killer” … and with good reason. But watch for cursed spirit Kenjaku to step up in the second arc, and there will certainly be plenty of lesser villains that appear along the way. We’re also looking to see if Ryomen Sukuna raises another finger!
