Interesting, huh? Well, you’ll just have to watch the series to find out more. (You know how it is.)
What Is the Loki Season 2 Release Date?
Why Was Loki Season 2 Delayed?
As a fan of Loki, you might have wondered why Season 2 was delayed. The primary reason was changes in the overall MCU schedule when Marvel decided to rethink its release strategy, slowing down the roll out in a move designed to increase quality. (This also affected other Marvel movie releases.) While Loki missed the Summer 2023 release window, fans should see the series this Fall, probably in October. Are you ready?
Loki Season 2 Cast & Characters – Returning & New Faces
As you might expect, the amazing Tom Hiddleston is cast again as Loki, this time with the TVA in a search to find Sylvie, Ravonna Renslayer, and Miss Minutes. After all, who better to play that role? This super-talented British-born actor with more credits (including a Golden Globe Award and a Laurence Olivier Award) than your local supermarket has shelves delivers again… in spades. In addition to your familiar performances in the Marvel universe, you might be interested to know that he’s an ambassador for UNICEF and his charity work is very important to him.
Mobius – Owen Wilson
Mobius M. Mobius is an agent of the TVA and ally of Loki who works with Loki in his quest, but who doesn’t remember Loki from his past. Mobius is portrayed by Owen Wilson, an exceptional actor in his own right, with accolades that include Academy Award, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, and Writers Guild of America nominations and MTV, People’s Choice, and other awards. You’ll enjoy him as Mobius in Loki Season 2.
Sylvie – Sophia Di Martino
Sylvie Laufeydottir (born Loki) is an alternate version of Loki who originally helped him fight to bring down the Time Variance Authority (TVA). In Season 2, she’s one of the objects of his search, and you’ll have to see where her loyalties lie. She’s played by English actress Sophia Di Martino. Among her many achievements in film and television, you’ll recognize her from her portrayal of Sylvie in the Loki TV series, for which she received two MTV Movie and TV awards, as well as her starring roles in Flowers and Casualty. Sylvie couldn’t be in better hands.
Kang/Victor Timely – Jonathan Majors
First introduced at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, you might know Victor Timely as Kang the Conqueror, a variant of He Who Remains, from the first season. This 1900s inventor is recognizable by his glasses and three-piece suit. What does Victor have to do with Season 2? Ha! You’ll have to watch to find out! Jonathan Michael Majors turns in another stellar performance as Victor Timely, as he did as Kang in the MCU, Dame Anderson in 2023’s Creed III, and so many other movie and TV roles. Majors has won and been nominated for a host of awards, including Critic’s Choice and Screen Actors Guild, so you know you’ll enjoy him again in Loki Season 2.
Ravonna Renslayer, a former Minuteman for the Time Variance Authority, is the TVA judge overseeing Loki’s, shall we say, “interesting” case. Having banished Mobius and Loki to the Void, she’s also one of those Loki is searching for in Season 2. Renslayer is portrayed by British actress Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha-Raw, aka Gugu Mbatha-Raw, well-known for her outstanding performances on stage, in TV, and on the big screen. Look for her in many lists of awards and nominations, including Critics Choice Super and BAFTA. And of course, don’t miss her in Loki!
Hunter B-15 – Wunmi Mosaku
A high-ranking hunter of the TVA, Hunter B-15 is a brainwashed time variant who remembers her family and is an agent of the Time Variance Authority in the TV series Loki. She’s one of the agents Loki teams up with. Nigerian-born English actress Oluwunmi Mosaku Listen (Wunmi Musaku) plays the role of Hunter B-15… and that’s our good fortune! She’s known for her roles in BBC miniseries and the BAFTA award she won for TV’s Damilola. Look for her in Season 2 of Loki.
TVA Archivist – Ke Huy Quan
Vietnam-born Ke Huy Quan (aka Jonathan Ke Quan) is the American actor who plays the part of TVA activist in Season 2 of Loki. You may recall him as Shortround in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom or Data in The Goonies or as an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award winner for 2023’s Everything Everywhere All at Once. So, you already know what a great job he does in Loki Season 2!
Casey – Eugene Cordero
Casey is a TVA receptionist and later Hunter K-5E seen at the end of Season 1 of Loki and who carries over into Season 2 in the new TVA. The actor who brings Casey into your home is Eugene Cordero, an American actor, writer, and comedian seen in a litany of roles on TV and in the movies, from Ghostbusters and Kong: Skull Island to The Office, Hawaii Five-O, and Star Trek Lower Decks. Don’t miss him in Loki Season 2!
Miss Minutes – Tara Strong
“Welcome to the Time Variance Authority.” We all know who/what Miss Minutes is and what a critical role she plays in the Loki TV series. The animated anthropomorphic AI clock and “mascot” of the TVA created by He Who Remains, Miss Minutes is voiced by actress Tara Strong, whose many voice credits include The New Batman Adventures, Teen Titans, Rugrats, The Powerpuff Girls, Mortal Kombat, and Batman: Arkham. Such diversity and talent! In Season 2, Loki and the TVA are searching for Miss Minutes, along with Sylvie and Ravonna Renslayer. Why? Well…
Brad Wolfe – Rafael Casal
First cast in an undisclosed “major role” in Season 2, Rafael Casal stars as Brad Wolfe (whoever that is??). Rafael Santiago Casal is an American writer, rapper, actor, producer, director, and show runner originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. He’s also an online creator of music, poetry, web shorts, and political commentary. So, he’s got skills!
TBD – Kate Dickie
Kate Dickie was also revealed to have been cast in an undisclosed role, probably as a villain (and you know how we all love those!). Kate is an award-winning Scottish actress who’s appeared in film, TV, and stage plays. You may be familiar with her from roles in the HBO series Game of Thrones, the BBC series Tinsel Town, and film appearances in Prometheus and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. She should be great in Loki Season 2.
