Woody Harrelson Officially Cast in Han Solo Film

As if there was any doubt, Rogue One, the first of the Star Wars standalone films (if you can call it a standalone film) was an astounding box office and critical success. The next film to fall outside of the Skywalker family saga will be based around a young Han Solo. While the plot is currently a mystery, we now know that Woody Harrelson will have a major role in the film.

Who he’ll be playing is still unknown, though Harrelson did confirm that his character will be a mentor to Han Solo. He’ll be joining Emilia Clark, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. Already a phenomenal cast now adds the Oscar-nominated Harrelson who has become a real chameleon with the roles he’s taken on.

The film’s directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, added a bit humor to their big casting announcement.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody. His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”

The untitled Han Solo film is set to be released May 25, 2018.
