Breakout Star from Hail, Caesar! Officially Cast as Young Han Solo

Alden Ehreinreich Han Solo

After months of speculation and rumors and auditions, we finally have our young Han Solo.

Alden Ehrenreich, a young newcomer who made waves in the Coen Brothers’ Hail, Caesar! earlier this year, has landed the pivotal role of the Star Wars scoundrel.

While there are no plot details for the Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed film, second in the series now sub-titled A Star Wars Story, we do know it will explore Han Solo in his younger days, which is enough to get me on board.

And so is this casting!

Ehrenreich was easily the best part of Hail, Caesar! and really showed his chops when it came to committing to a role and having good comedic timing, both things that will definitely help out when playing Han Solo.

All you need to do is watch the “Would That It Were So Simple” scene to see what I’m talking about.

The film, which is rumored to be titled Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, to remain consistent, is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.

What do you think of this casting? Are you excited to see young Han Solo adventures?
