Riverdale, the upcoming CW series based on the Archie comics, just cast two of its four leads.
The series, which is set in modern times, comes from Greg Berlanti, the creator behind Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and more.
So who was cast?
Lili Reinhart (Surviving Jack) as Betty Cooper and Cole Sprouse (The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody) as Jughead Jones.
In the series, Betty is Archie’s friend who’s harboring a huge crush on him and turns to her new friend, Veronica, for advice.
Jughead, meanwhile, is Archie’s former best friend in this subversive take on the series, and is “still smarting from the rift.”
Deadline describes the series as exploring “the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome façade.”
Color us intrigued.
