Watch Never-Before-Seen Clips of Robin Williams Recording as the Genie from Aladdin

On October 13th, Disney releases a new Blu-Ray edition of Aladdin.

To preview the big release, Disney’s theater the El Capitan showed the film for several weeks and now Good Morning America has released a couple videos celebrating the film.

First is the late and beloved Robin Williams, who voiced the hugely popular Genie, in some never-before-seen outtakes from his recording sessions, followed by an interview with the cast and crew:

Williams’ brilliance is on full display here, and it reminds you of what a hugely talented person he was.

Co-director Ron Clements recalls recording with him: “We recorded him in four-hour sessions and he would be going for four-hours straight. By the end, he was just drenched in sweat. He had so much energy and so much passion.”

Next, Brad Kane and Lea Salonga, the singing voices behind Aladdin and Jasmine, reunited to do a rendition of “A Whole New World”:

And after those two videos, I’m definitely getting a little misty.

Aladdin will be released on Blu-Ray on October 13th. It will include the video of Robin Williams.
