Paleyfest Panels Reveal Secrets and Upcoming Plots for Arrow and The Flash

Paleyfest Los Angeles ended this weekend. Paleyfest is a two-weekend event at the Paley Center for Media in Hollywood which features panels of your favorite television series, including cast and crew, that fans can attend. It’s a great way to celebrate your favorite shows, ask those burning questions, and sometimes even see new footage!

This weekend there were panels for two of our favorite shows, Arrow and The Flash. You can watch video footage of both panels below.

At the Arrow panel, Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen), warned: “It’s going to get worse before it gets better.”

That’s never something you want to hear for your hero. He went on to talk about Ra’s al Ghul as the big bad: “If you know Ra’s and his tactics… you realize that it’s an ‘offer’ in name only. It’s a demand. And if Oliver says no, there will be incredibly dire consequences.”

David Ramsey (Diggle) compared his character to Oliver’s and the struggles they both face: “He can have a family and a wife and a child, and he can also fight crime… The struggle that Oliver has, Diggle doesn’t.”

Over on The Flash, there was definitely a lot of talk about Harrison Wells and Tom Cavanagh did the best he could to dodge spoilers. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that “very soon” viewers will learn “how you were able to see what you saw.”

Candice Patton (Iris West) addressed her character finding out the truth about Barry and that it will feel like a betrayal, given that both her father and Barry kept it from her for so long. Jesse L. Martin (Joe West) talked about playing a detective again, and how it’s different from his stint on Law & Order (he definitely brought up working with a giant monkey).

Perhaps the biggest news was showrunner Greg Berlanti confirming that more members of the Flash family might pop up in Season 2. A lot of fans are thinking it will be Wally West (Iris’ nephew, the first Kid Flash, and the third Flash). Back in September, Berlanti also said that if and when Wally joins the cast, he will be African-American.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8pm on The CW. The Flash returns tomorrow at 8pm on The CW.
