Edward Scissorhands Gets the Bishoujo Treatment As This New Statue

Edward Scissorhands Bishoujo Statue

When you talk about Tim Burton, “bishoujo” may not be the next word balancing on the tip of your tongue. But Kotobukiya once again proves that anything – anything – can be given the stylized Japanese treatment.

This new Edward Scissorhands Bishoujo Statue is a guaranteed conversation starter. Perhaps Edwina would be a more appropriate name here?

Regardless, this unique take on one of Burton’s most iconic and gothic fairy tale creations is almost as doe-eyed as the young Johnny Depp; judging by her expression, she’s also as conflicted and lonely.

From her wild hair to the (many) buckles on her ragged dress, this manmade cutie has been rendered in exquisite detail. You can’t help but wonder how she managed so many leather straps with her problematic hands.

The 1:7 scale interpretation of the classic character was based on an original illustration by Shunya Yamashita. She measures 9-inches tall on a themed base, is made of sturdy plastic, and comes packaged in a 5th-panel window box.

This Burton-esque bishoujo beauty will be arriving in January – perhaps while the snow is flying – but won’t linger for long, so pre-order now with free shipping before she disappears under tragic circumstances.
