Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom Main Characters
Alright, before we dive in (get it?) let’s start with some of our main characters from this sequel, how they got here and what they are. If you’re looking to take home some awesome Aquaman collectibles, or if you’re looking to gift them to someone, you might want to know who it is you’re even looking at.
Aquaman (Arthur Curry)
Aquaman is the star of the show! The sarcastic, handsome Arthur Curry (played by Jason Momoa) has the power of the sea – a human/Atlantian hybrid, his mother the former queen of Atlantis, his father a lighthouse attendant. In Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom, Arthur is now the king of Atlantis, protecting his kingdom with his super-human powers, which include superhuman speed, agility, durability, strength, amphibious abilities, marine telepathy and more.
Mera
Mera is the wife of Arthur, a Xebelian who fell in love with Aquaman during the adventures of the first movie. The two married, and she gave birth to their son, Arthur Curry Jr. Mera also has superhuman abilities, such as strength, durability, speed, senses, and a regenerative healing power. She is also able to breathe on land and underwater (although it seems if she’s on land long enough, she may die of dehydration). Mera has also mastered Atlantean magic, adding the ability to manipulate water to her list of strengths. Mera’s powers and her adamant attitude has helped Aquaman in the past, and presumably will be needed again to defeat any new threats.
Black Manta
David Kane, also known as the Black Manta, was a pirate mercenary who’s father was inadvertently killed during a skirmish with Aquaman. Once he had allied with Orm Marius, Aquaman’s half-brother, Kane was able to combine Atlantean technology with his own to create the powerful Black Manta suit. Black Manta is one of the main villains of the sequel, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.
