BREAKING: Untitled Han Solo Film’s Name Finally Revealed

The Star Wars franchise is vast and full of surprises. There’s an endless amount of stories to be told within the fictional universe, as we’ll see this December when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters. Shortly after, we’ll get a deeper look at a fan-favorite character when Han Solo gets his own solo flick, told in the past, showing us how Solo became the man he was when we first met him in a cantina full of scum and villainy. Today, director Ron Howard announced that the standalone film had finally wrapped production and revealed its official title – Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The title follows the same structure as last year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story release including the “A Star Wars Story”‘ tag. A lot like Rogue OneSolo will be a self-contained story set outside of the main Skywalker Saga, however, it will use a group of characters we’ve already been introduced to, including Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian. The movie will also feature Tag and Bink, two comic book characters that die-hard fans have come to know and love. While we don’t quite have a grasp on the exact plot of the film we do know we’re going to get a look at the infamous Kessel run, or at least the planet Kessel and Solo’s home planet of Corellia.

While the production of the movie has seen its share of speed bumps with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller being fired and subsequently replaced by Howard, the movie is still on pace for its May 25th, 2018 release. Alden Ehrenreich will star as Han Solo with Donald Glover playing Lando, and Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Thandie Newton rounding out the cast.

How do you guys feel about today’s news? Are you happy with the title of the film? Are you excited for Solo? Let’s dig into it in the comments below!
