She was the chief of the poison division for a Nazi contingency. They were planning to poison the United States Army’s water with a drug called “Reverso,” which compelled whoever takes it to do the opposite of what they’re told. Wonder Woman would discover that Doctor Poison was actually Maru, a Japanese princess. In the upcoming Wonder Woman film, Doctor Poison is being portrayed by Elena Anaya. She’s dedicated to helping German General Erich Ludendorff in his pursuit to win the first World War. She provides him with a new type of chemical warfare that will destroy gas masks and gives Ludendorff a drug that gives him temporary super-strength to focus and regain his strength. Doctor Maru may not seem like a baddie to be feared, but she’s extremely driven and smart and is an expert in ways to kill from a distance. She poses a real threat to her enemies, including the Amazonian Princess, Wonder Woman.
