Starfleet’s Most Famed Starship: The Enterprise

1200x630_startrek_fourpack_shipsThe names of many fictional spaceships refer to one vessel only. The Millennium Falcon. Serenity. The Nostromo. The TARDIS.

But the name Enterprise… well, that, as they say, is a name to conjure with! And the collectibles wizards at Eaglemoss Publications have conjured four versions of Starfleet’s famed flagship in the newest set from their Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection.

Representing almost a century and half of Starfleet history (and nearly four decades of real-world TV series and films), these four die-cast vessels, each about five inches long, are must-have mementos of the ongoing Star Trek adventure.

  • Enterprise NX-01 (Star Trek: Enterprise) – Launched in 2151, this Enterprise was Earth’s first starship capable of warp five. That speed allowed humans (and one Vulcan, and one Denobulan) to begin their trek to the stars in earnest. As her captain, Jonathan Archer, once said, “We’re making history with every light year.”
  • USS Enterprise NCC-1701 (Star Trek) – This Enterprise spearheaded Starfleet’s space exploration in the mid- to late-23rd century. Under the command of her most famous captain, James T. Kirk, she visited a dazzling array of new worlds, defended the Federation from aggressors, and (in finely refit form) successfully stood between Earth and the awesome, destructive power of V’Ger. She met her fiery end over the ill-fated Genesis Planet, but lives on in galactic memory as the boldest Enterprise of all.
  • USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A (Star Trek IV, V, VI) – Although initially plagued by myriad electronic and mechanical failures when launched in 2286, this Enterprise ultimately distinguished herself as the first known vessel to pass the Great Barrier surrounding the galaxy’s center. She was also the ship that fought and destroyed a rogue, stealth bird-of-prey during the Khitomer Conference, helping pave the way for peace between the Federation and the Klingon Empire.
  • USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B (Star Trek: Generations) – This Excelsior-class Enterprise is best remembered for her fateful first voyage, in 2293. Despite lacking many key systems and components (“Don’t tell me—Tuesday”), she rushed to the aid of El-Aurian refugee ships trapped in a strange energy ribbon. She avoided her own destruction thanks only to the retired Captain Kirk’s (presumed) self-sacrifice.

Sculpted and painted with impressive, screen-accurate attention to detail, and accompanied by a full-color, information-packed magazine that documents each craft’s significance from both in-universe and production perspectives, these USS Enterprise models will bring an irresistible spirit of excitement and discovery to your desk or shelves at home or work.
