New Kingdom Hearts Trailer Released for E3 2016

E3 2016 gets underway next week, but many gaming companies are getting started early. PlayStation released the trailer for World of Final Fantasy a couple days ago and today, a brand new Kingdom Hearts trailer arrived in anticipation of the expo.

The struggles of KH fans are long and complicated, from delays, to one of the most tangled plots in gaming history (which are only made worse from the constant remixes and delays on the main storyline), and yet, we’re still going strong.

Do I know everything that happens in the universe of Kingdom Hearts? Absolutely not, but I stay above surface as best I can and have fun playing the games that I can. I do wish it was more accessible and streamlined, but even if I don’t know exactly what is going on, when I hear words like “keyblade” and “Nobodies” and any amalgamation of darkness/light/hearts, my interest is piqued.

Just like in this brand new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue!

This new game, which will exclusively be available on the PlayStation 4, is a high-definition remastered collection that includes three major components.

The first is a new HD-rendering of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, which follows Sora and Riku as they face their Mark of Mastery exam and are tasked with protecting parallel worlds.

The next two components feature brand new content, as shown in the trailer, which is really exciting.

Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep–A Fragmentary Passage is first and takes place after the events of Birth by Sleep, a prequel to Kingdom Hearts, as told by the perspective of Aqua.

Last is Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover, which sheds new light on the Fortellers, as previously introduced in Kingdom Hearts χ. These two components will be the ninth and tenth installments of the franchise.

The new game is set for a December 2016 release on the PlayStation 4.

Are you excited for this new Kingdom Hearts game? Which section are you looking forward to most?
