Now that it’s June, most television shows have wrapped up their storylines for the year. Saturday Night Live is no exception, and the sketch comedy program just ended its 41st season a few weeks ago.
A lot of people like to complain, claiming that the show hasn’t been good in a long time. I beg to differ! The past few years we’ve seen some amazing talent come and go (Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, Andy Samberg). The current cast also delivers laughs week after week and features prominent up-and-comers such as Kate McKinnon, Jay Pharoah, Aidy Bryant, and Leslie Jones.
One of my favorite pre-recorded sketches from last season was the “audition footage” that SNL released before The Force Awakens premiered. This new video highlights some of the bonus scenes that didn’t make the final cut. The talented cast is joined by a few celebrity guests and hilarity ensues.
My favorite moments have to include John Boyega and his take on an “urbanized Stormtrooper,” The Black Eyed Peas filling in as the Cantina Band, and Jon Hamm in full Han Solo regalia.
