Is Colin Firth Returning for the Kingsman Sequel?

The sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s popular 2015 spy movie Kingsman: The Secret Service is under way and star Taron Egerton tweeted a new, curious image for the film today.

The film, titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle, still has a year before its release, but suddenly that year just got a lot longer.

For fans of the original, this tweet ignites a lot of feelings.

It’s referring to Colin Firth’s character from the first film, Harry Hart, who – SPOILER ALERT – last we saw had been shot and killed by Samuel L. Jackson.

The words “reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated” are seen below an image of Harry’s glasses. Whether or not this actually means Harry is alive is still wildly unknown – after all, someone could be trying to make it seem like he’s alive.

Still, it’s definitely got fans in a frenzy, so the tweet is successful on that front. Frankly, I’m inclined to believe Harry really did bite the dust, but I certainly wouldn’t protest more Colin Firth in this franchise in some capacity.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is directed once more by Matthew Vaughn and will star Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Julianne Moore, and Halle Berry. It’s set to arrive on June 16, 2017.

Do you think this means Harry is still alive, or is it a red herring? Share your theories below!
