Second Age of Ultron TV Spot Reveals Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver’s Roots

Marvel’s really spoiling us, aren’t they? They have released a teaser trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron and not one, not two, but three full trailers for the film as well. And yesterday we got our second TV spot, which you can watch below.

If it feels like there’s nothing more that can be shown in trailers without giving away the whole movie, you’re not alone.

However, this minute long TV spot is made up of almost entirely new footage and doesn’t spoil anything. It’s constructed to showcase all of the main characters in the film – and how awesome they are. We’ve met them through posters before, but never like this.

Some of the highlights include Captain America (Chris Evans) doing a flip on his motorcycle and throwing it at the enemy. He then quips: “It just slipped.” Thor (Chris Hemsworth) uses his mighty hammer to play baseball with Cap’s shield in an epic shot (“It’s all in the swing,” he says).

Hawkeye (Clint Barton) gets more screen time and characterization when he tells a mysterious figure (who I’m guessing is Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen): “If you step out that door, you’re an Avenger.”

One of the most exciting moments is when they reveal that they will be keeping Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver’s (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) Eastern European roots. Real names Wanda and Pietro Maximoff hail from the fictional European country Transia in the comics.

In Quicksilver’s spotlight, he utters the line, “You didn’t see that coming?”, in a snarky tone and very Eastern European accent.

Some fans may recall that Quicksilver’s role in X-Men: Days of Future Past made him entirely American.

It’s a great minute of footage in what has a been a plethora of trailers and shows that this film will definitely have a lot of exciting scenes.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Cobie Smulders, Paul Bettany, and James Spader. It’s set to hit theaters on May 1st.

What do you think of the TV Spot? Who’s your favorite character that they highlight? Let us know in the comments!
