Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!
Fans of the ghostess with the mostess know that Beetlejuice appears when you say his name three times. And we’re saying it three times fast because we want to see him return to the silver screen! We’re in luck – director Tim Burton has confirmed that Beetlejuice 2 is happening and Winona Ryder is along for the ride!
Burton spoke with MTV and stated, “Oh yeah,” when questioned if he would be directing Beetlejuice 2. “Oh yeah, yeah yeah yeah,” he said enthusiastically when asked if Winona Ryder will return.
As for Beetlejuice himself, Michael Keaton previously stated that if Burton returns to direct the sequel, he will too. Luck may be in store for us because Burton is returning to direct and with these words:
There is only one Beetlejuice for sure. And [the script is] pretty good. I haven’t yet spoken to [Keaton] because he is out on his awards campaign, so I can’t get to him now… As I worked with him several times, to go from Beetlejuice to Batman, is quite a big range. I know he’s got the range; so it’s great.
