Drum roll please… the envy belongs to none other than Christian Bale! The star of The Dark Knight Rises heard the casting news about Ben Affleck as Batman in the upcoming Batman V. Superman, and was reportedly envious of the decision.
“So I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour,” Bale stated in an interview with Empire Magazine.
It’s rumored that Bale was offered a lucrative amount to play the part in Batman V Superman, but for whatever reason, Ben Affleck was chosen to suit up as the Caped Crusader.
“I’ve got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, ‘Oh go on… Let’s do another,'” said Bale. “The fact that I’m jealous of someone else playing Batman… I think I should have gotten over it by now.”
Some may think Bale’s admittance is the beginning of ‘The Green Knight Rises’, but have no fear – our beloved Batman is a good sport. He claims that though he hasn’t spoken with Ben Affleck in person, he has emailed the fellow actor tips on how to play the part.
