It’s always hard to see a product based on an actor who is no longer with us, especially one who made such an impact on a one-of-a-kind cinematic universe. NECA was able to put emotion aside and create one of the best figures I have ever seen. The Batman The Dark Knight The Joker 1:4 Scale Action Figure is an exceptional figure.
It may be an unspoken rule that Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight is one of, if not the best, performances of the past decade. (My friends and I even joke that nothing can top Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight, including Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight.)
This Joker figure comes with three weapons: his (bank robbery) pistol, the “hit me” machine gun, and his trusty knife. Decked out in his iconic purple suit, green vest, unique tie, and Bat stompin’ boots, this figure brings the terrifying Joker right to your desk or shelf. Oh, did I mention that it comes with a chain (of a pocket watch, I’m going to assume) because it does. And it moves. It moves!
The Joker stands 18-inches tall. I’ll say that again – 18-inches tall! This is a perfect size for this figure, because anything bigger would not be able to stand up properly without a base. Oh yeah, did I also mention that this figure doesn’t need a base or stand to stand up fully? Because it’s doesn’t. How rad is that? Pretty rad. Just like this Joker figure.
The attention to detail is superb. The striking resemblance to Ledger is fantastic, and just downright “super cool,” says Entertainment Earth employee and NECA Joker Figure owner Kyle. (I’d like to go on record and say it’s super cool plus “insanely sick”.)
My personal favorite detail is in the make up of the figure. Aside from the fact that his hair is the same shade of green from the film and parted the same way, NECA added these details to his brow to make it seem as if the paint is coming on his face after a long day of terrorizing Gotham.
Aside from the Joker figure’s awesomeness, the packaging is wonderful too. The box has been “Jokerized” — graffitied by The Joker himself. Note “The Dork Knight” detail that looks like it was typed on The Joker’s typewriter.
I highly recommend this figure for any fan of Batman. Your collection will be happy you added him to it. Look at you go!
